The American Dream

I don't think the American Dream is all about consumerism. I believe the American Dream is about working hard to achieve your goals. For early immigrants to the New World, this was the Dream they had, and it morphed into the American Dream. Since society has changed, it has changed into a materialistic dream, but at the heart of the Dream, it is still working hard to achieve your goals.

    I like your perspective, Wilson. You're saying that the goals may be different, but the Dream is the process of achieving those goals. That seems to be a more universal Dream, don't you think?

    I agree. Although societies morals have evolved, we are all still on the persuit of happiness. I feel that everyone has individual dreams that will finally fulfill happiness in the long run.
