Death of a Salesman
I thought this movie was pretty good for the most part. I didn't like Willy. All he did was yell thorughout the entire movie. He was extremely rude to his wife and his two boys. I think Linda thinks too highly of her husband because all she did was stick up for him whenever he treated his boys bad. I also thought Willy was very selfish because all he cared about was himself. He wanted to have the perfect job and make a lot of money to make him happy.

I actually described Willy's wife as having "head-in-the-sand" syndrome--it was like she purposefully didn't see the way Willy treated her. This and all the other failings of all the other characters is what made me love the movie. Everything was so intensely real! I hadn't thought about Willy only caring only about himself, though that is of course what happened. I'd only realized that he deceived himself about who he was, but I guess you can only do that if you're focused on yourself, huh?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Emily, I don't like Willy too much. He is very selfish and prideful.
